- The Magnifica ESAM3300 is priced quite a bit higher than it's direct competitors in this category. For the price, it does give you an incredible range of coffee options, so paying the extra may very well be worth it for real coffee lovers.
- This all in one coffee maker has a great design, comes with outstanding features and most importantly produces incredible tasting coffee with a high variety of options. We have ranked this as the best coffee maker with grinder available on the market.

- Some coffee makers are difficult to clean. They have many different pieces, making cleaning a long process, and then you also get coffee makers that stay in very few pieces, but are incredibly awkward to get under a tap. The Cuisinart DGB-900BC has neither of those problems.
- When the coffee maker is not in use for over two hours, it will automatically shut down to save you energy. This means any coffee left will cool down, but we don't think coffee that has been sitting in the carafe for over 2 hours is fresh anymore anyway.
- The Cuisinart DGB-900BC is a step up from the 700BC. It's grind and brew system is great for a fresh cup of coffee, but it fails in delivering some extra features other coffee makers bring to the table.
- 332 Review(s)
- The quality of the coffee the BDC650BSS grind control produces is simply amazing, and with it's range of coffee strength and grinder customization options we feel that it will be able to accommodate any coffee lover.
- The coffee grinder makes quite a bit of noise. Luckily the noise doesn't last too long because of the infusion process this coffee maker offers.
- It is next to impossible to get the features this coffee maker offers at a price like this. The Breville BDC650BSS is an incredible coffee maker that deserves all the praise it has gotten since it's release.
- 482 Review(s)
- This Capresso coffee maker has an automatic brewer timer with 24 hour clock. Ideal if you want your favorite coffee ready as you wake up.
- Emptying the bean hopper is complicated. To completely empty the bean hopper you would have to turn the machine upside down, which is not very practical.
- Easy programmability and ease of operation are the two main reasons this coffee maker is great. Keeping the machine clean may be complicated though.
Grind and Brew
- 243 Review(s)
- The Cuisinart DGB-700BS also has a grind-off option. This means that you can also use pre-ground coffee too, although we really do feel you get more out of this machine by using fresh beans!
- This coffee maker comes with a small lcd screen, that could do with an improvement. For example the Breville BDC650BSS has a much clearer screen with a lot more information.
- We do feel some features of the Cuisinart DGB-700BS are a little outdated and could do with some improvement. That being said, the quality of the coffee this coffee maker produces is very good.
Criteria to take into account when buying a coffee maker
To decide which one of these coffee makers with built-in grinder is the best we have judged all machines in the top 5 to the following basic criteria we consider vital to decide which coffee machine with grinder is the top of the table. Additionally, we will help you in deciding which of these machines is the best bargain coffee maker with grinder.
Size and Capacity – The first factor we take into account is the actual size of the machine. While this may not be important to produce your perfect cup of coffee, it could be a deal breaker when you find out too late that your favorite maker is too big for your worktop.
The second criteria here that we used to find the best coffee maker with grinder is its capacity. The capacity refers to the amount of coffee beans and water the coffee maker can hold as well as how many cups of coffee can be brewed at once. Some people prefer their single cup coffee makers, while others intending to host larger gatherings will prefer a drip coffee maker that can provide up to 12 cups at a time.
Blades and Grinds – When trying to find the best coffee maker with grinder we discovered that there is a wide variety in the type of grinder, it’s quality and the kind of grind it provides. Some cheaper coffee makers come equipped with steel blades while at the higher end of the market coffee makers often come with burr grinders that give a strong fine grind, generally considered to provide a somewhat purer coffee taste.
Features and Ease of Operation – Coffee makers with built in grinders come with a wide variety of some of the most advanced technological features. Obviously, a high amount of features available can take a coffee machine from good to great. On the flip-side, with a lot of features coffee makers may become complicated to operate. Ease of operation is another criteria we value very high. Another important factor we will consider here is how easy it is to clean your coffee maker after use.
Price – Finally, to decide which coffee makers with grinder provide the most value, we will consider their costs. The five machines we have selected for this comparison review are competitively priced when compared to other coffee makers with built-in grinders. Not only is our goal to provide you with our opinions on what is the best coffee maker with grinder, but we also want to provide you with information on which machine is the best bargain deal available.
Taking all the above-mentioned criteria in mind, lets analyse our top five coffee makers with grinder.
Coffee Maker Size and Capacity
DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM3300
This coffee maker with bean grinder is absolutely power-packed. With its 15H by 11W by 14D inches (38.1 x 27.9 x 35.6 cm) the ESAM3300 coffee maker with grinder may be slightly bigger than some competitive models in our comparison, but it features a 60-ounce water capacity to help you make a large number of cups of coffee. Additionally, the bean container of the DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM3300 can hold up to 7.1 ounces of freshly roasted coffee beans. The coffee maker has the capability to make either one or two cups of coffee at a time.
Cuisinart DGB-900BC Grind & Brew
The dimensions of this coffee maker are 10.7H x 8.4W x 16.2D inches (33.3 x 25.4 x 46 cm). This Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffee maker is quite a bit smaller than the DeLonghi mentioned above. It is capable of making anywhere between 2 and 12 cups of coffee at once, easily selectable by the grind-control function. The water capacity is perhaps where the DGB-900BC lets us down a little. There is no way to regulate the water level. In other words, you add as much water as you will need for the amount of cups, meaning you cannot pre-fill this machine. The maximum capacity for the bean hopper is half a pound.
Breville BDC650BSS Grind Control
This coffee maker with grinder is 9H x 14W x 16.2D inches making this is one of the bigger sized machines in this review. The integrated bean hopper holds half a pound of freshly ground coffee beans and the machine is capable of making 12 cups of coffee in a carafe or it has a single serve function for travel mugs or cups.
Capresso 464.05 CoffeeTeam GS
This all in one coffee maker is one of the smaller sized machines in our best coffee maker with grinder review section. With its 9.2H x 9.2W x 15.2D inches (23.5 x 23.5 x 38.7 cm) this machine will easily fit in almost any kitchen. The Capresso 464.05 is fully programmable to make 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 cups at a time. Perfect for people that often have guests over. This all in one coffee maker has a 6 ounce bean container, which should be plenty for anyone!
Cuisinart DGB-700BC Grind and Brew
The dimensions of this 12-cup coffee coffee maker are 10.65H x 8.45W x 16.25D inches (33.3 x 25.4 x 46 cm). This grind and brew coffee maker also has a bean capacity of half a pound, which should be anough for 12 cups of coffee. Ideally we would have liked this grind and brew coffee maker to hold a bit more, as the manufacturer recommends to always keep the bean hopper half full.
Coffee Maker Type of Blades and Grinder
DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM3300
The DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM3300 comes with a integrated burr grinder with 13 adjustable settings available. The durable stainless steel grinder will grind your coffee beans consistently to the desired level to keep delivering your perfect ground coffee just before your cup of coffee is made. Getting your coffee any fresher is simply impossible.
Cuisinart DGB-900BC Grind & Brew
This coffee maker with built in grinder provides a fully automatic burr grind. The amount of cups you set out to make decides exactly how much of the coffee beans gets ground. A unique design feature is the grind basket that rotates, keeping steam from the machine away from your fresh coffee beans. The only thing that could be better about this coffee maker with grinder would be an option to change the coarseness of the grinder.
Breville BDC650BSS Grind Control
“Every roast grinds differently”
That is the slogan of the Breville BDC650BBS, and is reaffirmed by the built-in burr grinder in this coffee maker, which has six different grind control options. With this grind and brew machine you can make lighter or richer coffee exactly to match your taste. What’s more is that you can even calibrate the grinder before you brew, ensuring a consistent grind all the way through. The calibration function switches the grinder on for 10 seconds, after which the coffee maker will weigh the amount of coffee that’s been ground. You can then select if the coffee reached your desired strength and the brewer will automatically recalculate the correct coffee grind to water ratio.
Capresso 464.05 CoffeeTeam GS
The all in one Capresso 464.05 coffee maker comes with a conical burr grinder. Coffee beans of any sort can be directly fed to the grinder to be ground with 5 different settings ranging from coarse to fine, helping you produce more aroma than you ever could with a blade grinder. We did get some reviews from users saying the grinder was a bit loud, but the general opinion is that the quality of the ground coffee is excellent.
Cuisinart DGB-700BC Grind and Brew
The built-in coffee grinder in the Cuisinart DGB-700BC Grind and Brew coffee maker grinds the coffee beans automatically right before brewing. The conical burr grinder has 3 settings, ranging from coarse to fine grinds. The DBG-700BC is an excellent grind and brew coffee maker for it’s price, but it’s grinder is slightly below par.
Coffee Maker Properties and ease of operation:
DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM3300 In Review
When we look at available options and functions, there is no doubt that the DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM3300 is a top spec coffee maker. It features a digital control panel with options for programming, ensuring you get your perfect cup of coffee exactly how you want it, and when you want it. You can find out more about the various programming settings in the DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM3300 instruction manual.
As well as it’s programmable features, this high-end coffee maker can make many kinds of different coffee types. As well as your Americano black coffee, the ESAM3300 has all that you may need to make latte, espresso and cappuccino coffee as well. This all in one coffee maker is an absolute beast when it comes to bringing you the most variety to your coffee taste pallet.
This automatic coffee maker has a built-in burr grinder, something we feel any contender to the best coffee maker with built in grinder should have. It comes with an amazing feature called beans-to-brew will grind your favorite coffee beans just when the coffee is about to be brewed, producing a rich aroma. This coffee maker also comes with a one-touch foam system for the easy delivery of delicious cups of cappuccino and latte. The patented “Cappuccino System” frother mixes steam and milk to a creamy and silky froth.
The DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM3300 comes with two stainless steel boilers which are great distributors of heat and also help in re-heating. Its water-tank is removable for easy refilling and accompanied by a handy water-level detector. The coffee spigot height is adjustable, so that you can use different cup sizes. With a simple knob on the front panel you can adjust the amount of coffee to be brewed, as well as the amount of coffee beans to be used to influence both the size as the strength of your favorite cup. We especially like that these features are controlled by a dialed switch, rather than a digital one, as feels like it gives you much more control.
When it comes to cleaning and other maintenance, the ESAM3300 automatic coffee maker is so designed that it will notify you of anything it needs. There are multiple warning indicators telling you exactly when the unit needs to be cleaned, when the coffee maker needs its water refilled, or when your coffee bean pod is getting low. The warning indicators also let you know when the machine needs recalcified, something that is not very difficult, but is of of vital importance to many modern coffee makers with grinder.
Cuisinart DGB-900BC Grind & Brew In Review
The Cuisinart DGB-900BC Grind and Brew is a 24 hour fully programmable coffee maker. It comes with a built-in burr grinder helping in grinding the coffee beans in a particular shape, giving it an edge over any machines that use bladed grinders. It has a grind control function with which you can set the amount of coffee beans to grind to make your perfect cup of coffee.
You can set a timer on this grind and brew coffee maker to ensure your cup(s) of coffee will be ready when you wake up. There is nothing quite like waking up to the smell of fresh coffee, and with this machine you can do exactly that! Other great features of the DGB-900BC grind and brew coffee maker are it’s auto shut-off system. When the coffee maker is not in use for over two hours and is not setup with a timer, it will automatically shut down to save you energy. We have seen reviews that see this as a con, seeing as any coffee in the carafe will eventually cool down, but we don’t think coffee that has been sitting in the carafe for over 2 hours is fresh anymore anyway. Additionally, the carafe is of one of the best standards we have seen. The double insulated wall helps preserving the heat of your coffee brilliantly.
Cuisinart recognizes that all great coffee is 98% water. To help ensure your coffee tastes great it comes with a charcoal water filter, that will remove chlorine and bad tastes from your water, giving you the purest cup of coffee every time.
To prevent this grind and brew coffee maker from getting clogged up, we recommend to clean this machine regularly. Of course, one of the big frustrations with high end coffee machines is that while they make incredible coffee, some are difficult to clean. There are coffee makers that come apart in many different pieces, making cleaning a long process, and then you also get coffee makers that stay in very few pieces, but are incredibly awkward to get under a tap. The Cuisinart DGB-900BC has neither of those problems, making it a big contender for the best coffee maker with grinder. Cleaning this machine could not be easier.
Press the button on the side and the filter basket assembly opens. From here, you can take out the whole basket, simply put it in your sink and have everything emptied and rinsed in under a minute. Next unlock the coffee bean hopper, take it out and use the supplied brush just give it a quick jiggle in the chute where the ground coffee is fed to the filter basket and replace the hopper. Then just rinse out the carafe and use it to refill the reservoir. To clean the internal parts, you can simply run the machine with just hot water. Cleaning the DGB-900BC really is a fast, clean, and simple job.
Breville BDC650BSS Grind Control In Review
The Breville DBC650BSS Grind Control is a coffee maker that comes with many features. It has a clear lcd display, showing you exactly what functions have been activated, and giving you a lot of information on it’s plentiful settings like the current water level, the bean level, the coffee strength settings and the amount of coffee to be brewed.
This great coffee maker with grinder comes with a unique selling point. It is the world’s first household coffee maker to introduce grinder customization and calibration function. This means that not only does this machine grind your coffee beans before you brew, but you can also customize the grind size and coffee volume to suit your taste.
There is a small knob on the bean basket to adjust the grind to either go coarser or finer to help you get the best coffee grind size, making sure your coffee is bold and flavorsome. Additionally, this coffee maker also comes with an adjustable strength control, with which you can change the ratio of coffee to water to make your cup either stronger or weaker.
Something we are very excited about is that this Breville coffee maker comes with an infusion process. Where a lot of coffee makers drip water through the freshly ground coffee, the infusion process makes sure that the water released to the ground coffee sits there for a little while longer, and creates more contact time for the best coffee extraction. You really will taste this difference right away.
The BDC650BSS is not only easy to operate, we also found that it’s pretty quick. In single cup mode, brewing a good cup of coffee will take under 3 minutes, regardless of the size of the cup because of the great infusion process. If you are making a larger volume of coffee in a carafe brewing will take slightly longer. At 8 minutes though, the brewing time is still incredibly fast, especially when you consider you could make 12 cups in this time!
To speed things up even further for larger volumes of coffee and to still make use of the infusion process, you could use the carafe in single cup mode, tricking the coffee machine into thinking the carafe is a very large single cup. To do this you do need to take the lid off the carafe, or the machine will hold the filter pod open.
As for cleaning, this contender for best coffee maker with grinder is relatively easy to rinse because you can completely remove and was the filter pod after use. When you open up the machine, you can also take out the brew basket, revealing the bean chute. A quick wipe down of that does wonders. You can then also access the burr grinder when it’s empty, to brush it down. Generally the burr grinder does not get too dirty, it will just have some bean dust against the sides that will come off easily.
Capresso 464.05 CoffeeTeam GS In Review
The Capresso 464.05 CoffeeTeam GS is an all in one coffee maker equipped with a clear lcd screen, showing the time, grinding and coffee strength settings. This coffee machine is fully programmable and lets you save your amount of coffee cups, and it’s strength for future uses.
Not only can you program the amount and strength of your coffee, this Capresso coffee maker has an automatic brewer timer with 24 hour clock. This means that before you go to sleep you could set the coffee maker to a specific time and have your favorite coffee ready right as you walk down the stairs.
As well as this, the all in one coffee maker has a 2 hour automatic shut off feature, preventing the unit the stay on longer than 2 hours after making coffee. This means that any coffee still sitting in the carafe at this point will cool down, but this coffee would not be fresh anymore anyway. Of course, the machine will not automatically shut down if the automatic timer has been set, although the heat pad will.
The Capresso 464/05 CoffeeTeam GS can be used with or without it’s built-in grinder. This means you can use both your favorite coffee beans for the freshest coffee, but you can also use pre-ground coffee for your convenience. To use pre-ground coffee, simply select the “brew mode” and to use coffee beans, select the “grind/brew mode” of the machine.
Something we were less impressed with:
Emptying the bean hopper is complicated. To completely empty the bean hopper you would have to turn the machine upside down, which is not very practical. So to switch coffee beans you will need to go through some lengths to do this. There will also be a small amount of ground coffee left in the system. This can make things a bit complicated if for instance you have one decaf coffee drinker in the house.
Cuisinart DGB-700BC Grind and Brew In Review
The Cuisinart DGB-700BC Grind and Brew coffee maker is one of the more simple models in our best coffee maker with grinder comparison. That being said, this machine does come with plenty of options we see on other coffee makers today, namely the programability with 24 hour clock, so you can set a timer on when you want your coffee to be ready. This coffee maker comes with a small lcd screen, that could do with an improvement. For example the Breville BDC650BSS has a much clearer screen with a lot more information.
The Cuisinart DGB-700BC has a strength selector, allowing you to choose between strong, medium and mild coffee, and you could further change the taste of coffee to your preference by using the grind control function with a fine-tune intensity, allowing more or less coffee beans to be ground per cup.
Other properties include an adjustable automatic shutoff function. You can set up a timer from zero to four hours for the machine to automatically shut off. This can conserve energy. The machine also has a grind-off option. This means that you can also use this grind and brew coffee maker with pre-ground coffee beans, although we really do feel you get more out of this machine by using fresh beans!
The DGB-700BC has an integrated 2- to 4-cup feature, as well as a Gold tone commercial-style permanent filter and charcoal water filter to remove impurities and bad odor from your water supply.
